"We look like aliens", "Ninja!" and First Team in the Nation qualified for nationals? Why yes yes we are!

What a weekend, what a weekend.
So first pep rally of the season was friday... it sucked.... but at least we Juniors know how to rock our red! WOOO!!!! C/O 2012! :) Also, Friday was the first football game. we lost... pretty bad.... but the danceline preformed for the first time and while it was no where near perfect it wasnt horrible.
Saturday we hosted the first scholar's bowl tourny of the year! We finished fourth and due to such a high finish at last year's nationals we became the 1st team in the Nation to qualify for the 2011 NAQT National Tournament!!!!!!!!! :) Also i learned of a new game. It's called ninja. Calhoun kids are a bit strange. just sayin'. And Skylar Shae is a hustla. yep true story. Well that's all i have to say about that...

We went out last night....

So, its been a while... but with school starting back i've been a little bit busy... so recap.
Junior year is slowly starting. I'm so ready for the first football game! :)
Yesterday was so much fun.
Spent all moring washing cars for the dance team. Made a good chunk of change :)
Yesterday afternoon/night was the  best I've had in a long time. I met some great girls and got to celebrate the birthday of the greatest best friend in the world, Macy Michelle! And got to see one of my favorite girls, Shelby :)

Limo ride, olive garden, scavedger hunt in the mall and ended it all with the fabulous trio (Macy, Shelby and Meghan) all back at Macy's house. Those girls are my favorites. Love ya'll.

So take the Photographs and Still Frames in Your Mind....

The first week of Junior year is offically over. And it was a good week at that. My classes are all great; only down side. Homework. But I guess thats to be excepted with a heavy courseload during this wonderful junior year. Hard to believe in less than 177 school days I will be a senior in the Class of Two Thousand Twelve and in 357 I will be a Graduate of good ol' KDS. But for now I'm just going to let the time pass slowly and enjoy it while it lasts. I'm not going to be one of these rushing out into the world just to look back and realize I've missed some of the best years of my life.

Football season offically started last night with the Blue-White Game. My little brother isn't so little anymore as he played in his first ever game as a 7th grader. Wow. Its scary how fast theses last 2 years have flown and to know these next 2 will be even faster. But now's not the time to worry. Now's the time to live and have fun and makes the memories we'll always remember.

"Quit worrying about the stupid things. You have 4 years to be irresponsible. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time hanging out with your friends. So stay out late, go out on a Tuesday night when you have a paper due, Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink until sunrise. The work never ends school does."

The Art of Being a Southern Belle

Today, I got a new book. A Southern Belle Primer or Why Paris Hilton will never be a Kappa Kappa Gamma. It was quite amazing. It teaches you a few things everyone should know about being a Southern Belle. It really shows you what being a TRUE Southern Belle is.
Some of the things I was reminded of,

1. A Southern Mama, tells you instead of asking if you can.
2. Dressing up is something every Southern Lady should do.
3. Southern Belles are born not made.
4. No matter where you live or however long you've lived there, you are a native of where you were born.
5. "Precious" is the key word when spoken from a Southern Belle's lips. "Nice" well isnt as nice as you'd think.
6. Pearls = Love
7. No matter how old a Southern Belle gets their father is always Daddy.
8. Never wear white shoes before Easter or after Labor Day except is if it is a bride.
9. Never chew gum or smoke on the street.
10. Act helpless and confused when it's to your advantage; never let them know how clever and capable you really are...

There's more I could write but that's all I feel like for now.

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born, it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. it's being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies and coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way."

Thank you for Trying to Back Out on Me and TV Night with my Mother

Good evening all,
I sit here having just finished my Oreo Brownie Earthquake Blizzard. It was quite amazing.
I had a fabulous day. Spent the morning with some dear friends, Mackayla and Skylar. What would I do without those two? Well my day would be less amusing thats for sure and I'd still be trying to figure out what to do with those tables in my daddy's classroom. Thanks Ladies. :)

I also took my brother to football and back and ate a lovely dinner. Now as it is almost 8 o'clock, I'm getting ready to watch Make It or Break It with my mother. Its easily one of my favorite shows. If you haven't seen it I suggest watching it; Tuesday nights 8p.m Central Time.

Schedules, Besties and Banged Heads....

Good evening dears,
What a day what a day. So today really made it offical that I'm now a junior. Got my schedule and locker and everything. It's all looking up from here! Now just comes the fun of getting ready for what comes after these next two years. But for now I'm going to enjoy it because in two years when I sit in a dorm room by myself without my family and friends beside me I don't want to regret wishing my high school years away.

This evening, I went to see Charlie St. Cloud with one amazing chica, my best friend since we were 2, Macy Michelle! :) It was really good, sad at some parts and kind of different but so good! I advice going to see it. Speaking of my best friend, I'm going to spend a little time on her. I've know Macy since we were two at Tiny Tots Day Care and I can't believe its been 14 years since then. She's a one-of-a-kind girl she is. I know she's always there for me. I love you Mac! Thanks for always being my bestie.

And now since I'm talking about best friends, I hope everyone out there has one. I know I have my number one bestie and several other "best" friends that are my crew, my possie, my go to people that will be there if i need them and will talk to me for hours about the most stupid stuff when its 1 in the morning and I just need to talk. I hope everyone has those people they can call on. In the words of writer, Albert Camus: "Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend."

Finally, I hit my head tonight and it hurt. Just thought I'd share that and a quote to leave you thinking.
"What others think of us would be of little moment did it not, when known, so deeply tinge what we think of ourselves." - Paul Valery

The Begining of the Begining

Happy Sunday evening to you all.
Let me begin by saying I hope you all have had a good day; I spent it shopping with my family which led to my younger brother ending up with 3 pairs of shoes and me well not so much. But oh well, next week Shopping with my mommy! :)

So This is the begining of the begining as this post is titled. For me this means a lot of things, for one the begining of this blog, the begining of this month and the begining of a new school year which is just around the corner.
For me, I am very happy about this. To quote, "Holidays are enticing only for the first week or so. After that, it is no longer such a novelty to rise late and have little to do." -Margaret Laurence; So I'm glad to be heading back to those hallow halls of learning and to see those people I've had little to do with over the past two months.
So tomorrow is a good day, as I get my schedule for my Junior year. :) and then I'm heading to the movies with my bestie Macy Michelle to see Charlie St. Cloud.

Well, I do believe that is all I have to say for the moment. I was hoping for a deeper post but when the pen went to paper (or in this case fingers went to keys) this is what you got.

Til next time I leave you with a quote,
" Most people would rather be certain they're miserable, than risk being happy."-Robert Anthony
