Accepted of Admissions

Friday Afternoon I received my first acceptance letter.
Now, I'm not saying this is where I'm going to school but I'm pretty proud none the less.

Just thought I'd share my news.

Thank the Lord for Southern Football

Everyday I'm alive, I feel a privileged for being Southern (No offence to anyone else)
and come September, I remember how lucky I am to have been raised on SEC football.
Now which SEC school, I'll be calling home to in a year from now, I'm still keeping under wrap but I'm stealing an article out of the latest Southern Living and sharing with you
The 10 Commandments of College Football Fandom
  1. Thou shalt wear team colors. But think twice before adorning yourself with body paint - you don't want to be the internet photo that goes viral.
  2. Thou shalt know - and sing - your team's fight song from beginning to end
  3. Thou shalt keep your language clean
  4. Thou shalt support the coach. Even when his calls are questionable.
  5. Thou shalt be respectful to visiting teams. Remember: Southern ladies and gentlemen never boo (unless its auburn but that's another story.)
  6. Thou shalt set up a tailgate no few than three hours before kickoff.
  7. Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival.
  8. Thou shalt stay through the fourth quarter, rain or shine.
  9. Thou shalt respect the solemnity of Game Day by planning weddings, births and other life events around the football schedule. (Just ask my momma about this one)
  10. Thou shalt not covet other teams' bowl games, national championships or Heisman Trophy wins. There's always next year.
Stay classy, ya'll.

Longest First Week Ever

Hi Guys,
Sorry I've disappeared this past week but with school starting, its been crazy.
With 3 AP classes and government/economics, I've been running raggied.
I had my first test of the year today and can happily say I made 34/32!
And I have an essay for AP English due Friday that I have to get started on along with an AP Bio project.
With all this going on, there really is no telling how often I'll get to blog but I'll do my best.
I also started scholar's bowl practice this week!
I'm the only senior and then we have two sophomores returning and the rest of the ten are all freshmen.
It's a rebuilding year but I think it's going to be good.
As always, thanks for reading, love you guys!

The Magic of Childhood

Fact: Both my parents work in education.
My father teaches high school potions, (i.e. chemistry) at DAR.
and my mother works at my old elementary school as bookkeeper and secretary.
Yesterday, I was out at school with my Momma when she had a new kid come in to in roll.
He's name was Ethan and he's almost 5.
He was absolutely adorable.
I took him around the school to show him everything
and it reminded me of  how simple everything use to be.
Everything amazed Ethan and he wanted to know about everything and anything.
To quote the little boy, "When I start school, I'll be a grown up."
So I'm challenging you to try to find that childhood innocence in this upcoming year and remember how wonderful and amazing and new everything once was.

Bake Me A Cake As Fast As You Can

My whole life I've always loved to bake.
Cookies are my favorite, but recently, I've been obsessed with making cupcakes.
Such as these:

I blame it 100% on this blog and her amazing cupcakes.
If anyone wants a cupcake, I'd love to make you one.
Just let me know :)

Also, if any of you lovely lovely readers have pinterest and would like to invite me, I'd love it

Have a great evening

The Two Week Stretch

Hello my lovelies!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day.
Mine has been very long, and it's only 1:00.
It all started with the fact that I woke up at like 5 this morning in hopes of getting a Pottermore account (didn't happen, I fell back asleep) but I still had to get up at 6 due to the fact that I had a little thing call senior schedules to pick up today.
It took about an hour and a half but I finally, got my schedule all fixed.
In case ya'll were wondering,
1st - Aide
2nd - AP English Lit
3rd - AP Calc
4th - AP Bio
5th - Resourse
6th - Fashion
7th - Government/ Econmics
8th - Personal Finance

Of course there's always the chance this will change none the less, I think this year will be a good one.

This afternoon, I've been enjoying the Pretty Little Liars marathon and UPS just dropped off my new dress and blinds for my room :)
That's my dress, I like it but it's much more red then it looks in this picture.

Stay fabulous and keep reading.
I think I'm going to go take a nap or maybe make cookies...

One year and I sure as Hell ain't quittin' now.

August 1st, 2010 I posted my first blog post.
It was a just, getting to know you post that went a little something like this:
"Name: Meghan
Age: 16 since the 14th of June in the year of our Lord 2010 A.D.
About Me: Born and Raised in Scottsboro but I happily call myself a Patriot in the Class of 2012 instead of a wildcat. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm known as the teacher's kid and the smart, quiet girl but there is so much more if you get to know me.
What I like: Dressing up, writing, Rooms full of good books, shoes shoes and shoes, My wonderful Daddy, My amazing Momma, Being Southern, That redhead I call my brother, Harry Potter, Boys who act like Gentlemen, being 16, The Tide, my totally awesome friends and a lot more...."

Now some of this has changed, some hasn't.
In light of my one year, I'd like to go back and review what I first wrote.
Name: Still Meghan
Age: Well it was well covered in this post, I have added another candle to my cake and grown another year older.
About Me: Well still born and raised in Scottsboro, still at DAR about to be a Class of 2012 Senior, I feel like this year, I've grown up and really found the real me.
What I like: well I think if you've been around for a year, you have an idea but if not, well my about me should explain that.

So 1 year, that's pretty damn big.
I honestly didn't think I'd make it this far.
And for that, I thank you.
If you read every time I post or you've just read once.
Its knowing that people have viewed what I've posted and even more the people that have commented that have kept me going.
The people who have listened to my rants and random posts and then said something so sweet it completely made my horrid day so much better.
You have NO idea what this all means to me!
I love you all and wish I could thank you personally!
Without all this support, I would have probably quit a long time ago.
so all I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
As long as you're there, I'll be here.
With love and as always,

Talk to you soon,
Meghan
